Pier One is a heritage wharf hotel on Walsh Bay, at the northern edge of the Sydney CBD. CORE was recommended to deliver the fire engineering supporting a statutory rectification programme, following a fire order issued by the City of Sydney Council.

Working in a heritage-listed, continuously operating hotel, CORE's role centres on fire compartmentation advice and the review of successive services upgrades — including a major air-conditioning replacement — confirming that each alteration stays consistent with the approved fire strategy.

The work lets the hotel meet its regulatory obligations and keep improving the building while it continues to trade, without compromising the fire safety of a asset.
